MADRID — December 5, 2025 — Cloudflare confirmed today that it has restored services after a global outage that temporarily disabled a number of major online platforms, including Zoom, LinkedIn, and several others.

The outage occurred early Friday morning when Cloudflare implemented a change to how its firewall handles requests — a move meant to bolster security.  However, the update inadvertently caused the company’s network to become unavailable for several minutes. 

As a result, users worldwide reported being unable to access or log in to multiple services. Platforms affected included Zoom and LinkedIn, among others.  Cloudflare also noted that components like its Dashboard and related APIs were impacted. 

✅ Resolution and Company Response

Cloudflare’s team acted quickly to rollback the change and restore normal operation. By mid-morning, the company confirmed that all affected services were once again operational.  The company clarified that the incident was not caused by a cyberattack or malicious activity. 

Cybersecurity professionals analyzing the incident stated that the disruption stemmed from a misconfigured firewall update applied by Cloudflare.

This outage marks the second significant disruption for Cloudflare in less than a month. A similar global outage occurred on November 18, 2025, affecting a wide range of services.
